These are the beautiful stairs I walk down every day when I get out of my apartment. On the way up I take the elevator.

Inside the belly of the sea

As you probably know, the Aral sea shared by Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan is almost extinguished due to human interference. It is one of the saddest natural catastrophes of the 20th century. Today, most of its former extension has become a desert and a ship graveyard.

My friend Sonia Bueno Gómez-Tejedor asked me to contribute to the branding of her wine tasting blog CATAy contraCATA. I was just in charge of the logo. I was inspired by her collection of and notebooks (she is an excellent poet). We will soon publish a book of poetry and illustrations together. Our second collaboration.

Este es el logo ilustrado que realicé para Zapatelas un precioso proyecto social que diseña y realiza ropa para bebés y niños. Me inspiré en las casitas de muñecas de tela con asas que venden en la tienda y en la simpatiquísima muñeca Manuelita que se llama como la emprendedora de este proyecto.

This is the illustrated logo I created for Zapatelas a beautiful social project in Malasaña, a thriving district in Madrid. I was inspired by the portable doll house made of fabric which has handles. The little girl was inspired by the rag doll Manuela who shares name with the starter of the project.

workshop with David Wiesner july 2013

El año pasado asistí a un taller con David Wiesner que organizó i-con-i en el Patio Herreriano.

Mis compañeros de clase y yo lo pasamos en grande. La atmósfera fue muy acogedora y David, que es muy tímido, se llevó una grata sorpresa.
Yo continué desarrollando la historia del Sr. Conejo que sueña que su casa de convierte en una sombrero de copa.

El viernes me subiré a un tren a Valladolid y el lunes empezaré un taller con Pablo Amargo. Qué ganas.

In July 2013 I attended a workshop with David Wiesner in Valladolid. It took me a good two days to get used to stick my butt on the chair, but at the end I felt really satisfied with the result.

David is a great artist and really friendly. My classmates and me had a blast.
Next Monday I'll start a workshop with Pablo Amargo. Can't wait!

These are drawings I made while living in "el Madrid de los Austrias" very close to the Royal Theatre. It wasn't until a few years later that I saw my first show a beautiful performance by the Nederlands Dans Theater with choreographies by Sol León and Paul Lightfoot.
