As you probably know, the Aral sea shared by Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan is almost extinguished due to human interference. It is one of the saddest natural catastrophes of the 20th century. Today, most of its former extension has become a desert and a ship graveyard.

retales
El pasado 20 de marzo mi amiga Sonia Bueno recibió el I Premio de Poesía Joven de la Fundación y Centro de Poesía José Hierro. Su poemario se titula retales y he tenido la suerte de que incluyan algunas de mis ilustraciones. Ha sido una alegría enorme sobre todo por publicar mi trabajo junto al de Sonia.
La Fundación ha editado un libro realmente bonito.
Os recomiendo que leáis los poemas de Sonia son minimalistas, valientes y continúan resonando cuando se cierra el libro.
Creo que pronto estará disponible en La Central.
My friend Sonia Bueno has won the First International Award for Young Poets from the Centro de Poesía José Hierro. They have published her collection of poems retales and have included some of my illustrations in a beautiful volume.
I'm especially happy because this is my first work published ever and it has been thanks to Sonia. Her poems are very sophisticated, brave, ethereal and extremely hard to translate.
Soon it will be available in La Central.
